“We play twenty plus games a year. Every third night we are either going to experience success or failure and that’s a tough way to live.”
As athletes we often tie our entire identity to gravity. If the ball goes in we are a success. If the ball doesn’t go in we failed. At some point we have to be intentional about understanding that we are more than our sport.
Whenever you unveil a new layer of yourself that has nothing to do with your sport take the time to explore it. It is so important to create margin in your life. By doing that you will begin to see that your sport is just a small portion of who you are as an athlete or a coach.
